Video Feedback

Video feedback is generated when a video output is routed back to its source in a circular path. Historically, it has been created by pointing a video camera at the monitor receiving its signal; it can also be produced by looping the signal path through video processing equipment, such as mixers or color correctors. The result is an infinite, endlessly morphing display of contrast, color, and noise. Feedback loops can be manipulated to create unique artistic patterns, and their output can be mixed with – and influenced by – other sources.
