Created for the multimedia installation “Sirens: Secret Passkeys & Portals”, the Charger Wall symbolizes a technologically advanced power source within artist Virgil Ortiz’ fascinating sci-fi vision of Native American culture. The build took place in several steps over a period of many months – fabricating the rings, embedding the LED strips, programming lighting patterns and interactivity, and finally installing the entire piece within an infinity mirror. The final result is part of an ambitious artwork that combines sculpture, video art, sound design, and electronics with bold narrative ideas.
